Rosamund Jones-Keyes, woman of color, and a young widow, comes to Atlanta, GA from Ohio, with her nine year old daughter, Caryl, as an executive at Dectel Global, a leading technology company. "Aunt Pet" comes to live and care for Caryl. Rosamund is persuaded, despite her reluctance, to work with her subordinate, a white "mountain man" and single father, to uncover a conspiracy in the corporation that can become environmentally disastrous. Their children, Caryl and Darren, become friends. They, with Aunt Pet and delightful, multi-faceted characters from Asia to New Orleans have exciting experiences with a surprising ending.
